Beyond the Surface
Working across art, fashion, and finance has shown that, despite their differences, these worlds have more in common than they seem. They all place importance on how people present themselves. The way we dress, speak, and carry ourselves influences how we are perceived, but it rarely reveals who we are beneath the surface.
That contrast became the foundation of this work. Every painting begins with a personal observation, experience, or emotion, often inspired by people, conversations, or moments that left a lasting impression. While each piece has its own story and interpretation, it is never intended to have only one meaning. Once it leaves the studio, it becomes just as much about the viewer as it is about the artist.
Some people recognize themselves in a painting. Others are reminded of someone they once knew, a conversation they had, or a feeling they had almost forgotten. Those personal connections are often more meaningful than the original inspiration behind the work.
The hope is never to tell people what to see, but to create something they can genuinely connect with. If a painting makes someone pause, reflect, feel understood, or simply realize they are not alone in what they are experiencing, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
