At the age of 18, one of the artist’s paintings was selected for the 2021 Hand in Hand for Northern Germany charity auction, an annual fundraising campaign organized by NDR in partnership with the German Child Protection Association (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund).

The 2021 edition of the campaign focused on supporting children and young people whose lives had been particularly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including those facing poverty, domestic violence and limited access to educational and social opportunities. The auctioned painting sold for €4,444, with all proceeds funding projects and support services provided by the four regional branches of the German Child Protection Association across Northern Germany.

The campaign took place in Schwerin and was accompanied by extensive television and radio coverage on NDR. The artist and her work were featured in interviews and news reports throughout the event. Following the broadcast, she also volunteered at the campaign’s donation hotline, assisting with the fundraising efforts during the live appeal.
